Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the transfer of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and could be preparing for him to make his debut for the club this weekend.
The Chile international has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in what looks like becoming one of the biggest transfer stories of the season.
United would dearly love to have an attacking player of his quality on board, and the Daily Express now report that a deal could be finalised within 48 hours.
This could mean Sanchez is in line to immediately make his debut this Saturday as the Red Devils take on Burnley.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan still looks set to move as part of the deal, with the Express also suggesting United will pay £25million in cash for Sanchez as well.
This seems a decent deal for Arsenal given the circumstances, with Sanchez looking like leaving the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer at the end of this season.
The 29-year-old’s contract had been running out and the club could do well to get a reasonable fee and a big-name player out of his departure, even if it means losing a world class attacker.
Sanchez moving from Arsenal to United will bring back unhappy memories for Gooners of Robin van Persie making the same move back in 2012.
