Real Madrid to launch £62m bid to hijack major Arsenal transfer deal, hold two key advantages over Gunners

Real Madrid have reportedly joined the running to sign Borussia Dortmund star and rumoured Arsenal transfer target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Spanish giants have problems up front this season after a disappointing first half of the campaign sees them well behind Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have not been at their best in front of goal and Don Balon claim Florentino Perez wants Aubameyang to solve this issue up front.

The Daily Mirror claim the Gabon international has told Borussia Dortmund he wants a move to Arsenal this January, but Real could hold two key advantages in the deal.

The Mirror’s report states Arsenal are some way off meeting Dortmund’s valuation of the player, and would prefer instead to offer Olivier Giroud in a swap deal to get his fee down.

Don Balon, meanwhile, state that Madrid are prepared to offer £62million for Aubameyang, giving them the financial edge in the deal.

On top of that, Don Balon also claim it is Aubameyang’s dream to play in Spain, which means Real’s interest could persuade him against accepting Arsenal’s offer.

This is hugely worrying for Arsene Wenger as he desperately looks for attacking signings amid doubts over the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who are both out of contract in the summer, with the Daily Express claiming it is most likely the former will be heading to Manchester United in a cut-price deal this week.
