Barcelona reject bid for Arsenal transfer target, holding out for £35million

Barcelona have reportedly turned down an offer from Inter Milan for midfielder Rafinha as they hold out for closer to £35million for the player.

Arsenal were recently linked with Rafinha by Don Balon, with the Spanish source claiming the 24-year-old could move following the signing of Philippe Coutinho this January.

Inter were also linked with him at that time, and it seems they’ve made the first step to try and snap him up, though they haven’t offered enough.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Italian giants made a bid of around £22m for Rafinha, but Barca have turned it down to hold out for more money.

The report claims they want £35m for the Brazil international, so Arsenal may want to keep that in mind if they consider rivalling Inter for his signature this month.

Rafinha has struggled to establish himself as first choice in a competitive Barcelona squad, but he could end up being a decent signing for most other top European sides.

Arsenal could certainly do with upgrades in midfield at the moment, and Rafinha still has time to prove himself capable of being the player Barcelona thought he would be when he came through as a highly-rated youngster.
