Manchester United cleared to seal BRILLIANT swap deal after player U-turn

Manchester United playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan reportedly wants a pay rise if he is to seal a January transfer to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The Armenia international is expected to be part of the Alexis Sanchez deal this month, but the Daily Mirror claim he has big demands in order to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Mkhitaryan already earns £150,000 a week at Old Trafford despite hardly being the most reliable and consistent performer in his time at the club, and he wants an improvement on that at Arsenal.

United fans will surely be desperate for the player to accept any offer from Arsenal as they won’t want it to potentially jeopardise their move for Sanchez.

Mkhitaryan is apparently willing to move to the Emirates should the terms satisfy him

Mkhitaryan looked one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe during his time with Borussia Dortmund and could prove a masterstroke signing by Arsenal if he rediscovers that form.

The 28-year-old seems willing to consider a move to north London if the money is right – surely pushing United’s move for Sanchez ever closer to completion.

Reports yesterday suggested the Chilean had already agreed terms on a move to United so all that remains is for Mkhitaryan and Arsenal find an agreement.

Mkhitaryan didn’t initially seem keen on joining the Gunners but this u-turn is good news for the Red Devils.
