Champions League giants set sights on £35million Arsenal transfer raid

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin is reportedly a £35million summer transfer target for Juventus as they eye a number of new additions at the club.

According to Tuttosport, the Serie A champions are looking at Bellerin and at Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez as two priorities to link up with the club next season.

Bellerin has been one of the top full-backs in Europe in recent seasons after breaking into the senior Arsenal side midway through 2014/15, and could be a great investment.

Still, Arsenal should be confident of keeping hold of the Spain international has his contract does not expire until 2023 as he committed his future to the club last season.

The Gunners don’t, however, have the best recent record of keeping their best players from moving to another top teams, with the current Alexis Sanchez transfer saga a case in point.

The Chile international is, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, just hours away from finalising a transfer to rivals Manchester United.

On top of that, Arsenal have lost big names like Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona during Arsene Wenger’s reign, and former captain Patrick Vieira to Juventus back in 2005.

Bellerin’s departure would be another major blow, but it remains to be seen if Arsenal currently look like accepting any interest in the player, particularly with Tuttosport’s reported £35m valuation looking pretty low in this current market.
