Philippe Coutinho convinced Liverpool star will follow him out of Anfield to seal huge transfer

Barcelona new-boy Philippe Coutinho reportedly believes Mohamed Salah will follow him out of Liverpool and seal a big transfer to Real Madrid, according to Don Balon.

The Brazil international only just left Anfield to seal a move to the Nou Camp this January, and it seems there could be more bad news in store for Liverpool fans.

Despite Salah only just joining the Reds from Roma last summer, Coutinho is apparently now convinced he’s set to join him in swapping the Premier League for La Liga.

According to Don Balon, Coutinho spoke with Salah a lot towards the end of his time with Liverpool and gets the impression he’s aware of interest from Madrid.

This follows claims by Gianluca Di Marzio that Real were keen to respond to Barca’s high-profile swoop for Coutinho with a big-name buy of their own in the form of Salah.

The Egypt international certainly looks like he’d be a superb signing for Los Blancos, who have struggled this season as attacking players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have looked past their best.

Salah, meanwhile, has been in unstoppable goalscoring form for Liverpool, netting 24 goals in 30 appearances for the club despite largely playing out wide.

That’s the kind of superstar quality that would make the 25-year-old an ideal ‘Galactico’ buy for Real and one who could solve their problems and help them catch Barcelona next season.
