£79million star pushing for exit, favours Manchester United transfer over Chelsea

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale reportedly wants out of the club and his first choice transfer destination would be Manchester United, according to Don Balon.

The Wales international has not been at his best for Real recently, and hasn’t had the best of times with injuries in the last couple of seasons.

Still, a previous report from Don Balon has stated Madrid would look to bring in around £79million for his signature were he to depart the Bernabeu any time soon.

Earlier this season, the Sun claimed United were keen to bring in both Bale and Antoine Griezmann in a major attacking revamp, but it remains to be seen if that is still on the cards.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported yesterday that the Red Devils were closing in on the signing of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, which could mean there is little room left to fit Bale into his squad.

Still, Bale seems keen on United if the offer comes along, with Don Balon claiming he’d be reluctant to join Chelsea given his history with London rivals Tottenham.

The 28-year-old is open to considering other offers, however, with Don Balon also mentioning a move to Tottenham as a possibility in a swap deal with Harry Kane.

Were he to move to Chelsea, Don Balon also claim it could help Los Blancos sign Eden Hazard from the Blues.

Another piece from Don Balon today reported of talks between Jose Mourinho and Bale’s representatives, so if this is accurate it may be that the Portuguese has been successful in persuading Bale to choose Old Trafford as his next destination.
