Tottenham are reportedly now leading the race to land Bordeaux ace Malcom, and it could turn out to be a great signing for Mauricio Pochettino.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs are now favourites for the 20-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in the January transfer window, as per the report.

However, it’s Tottenham who are now being tipped to land his signature, with a £35m fee being touted as enough to prise him away from the Ligue 1 outfit, while he would remain in France for the rest of this season before moving to London.

The numbers tell a story of their own as Malcom has registered seven goals and six assists in 23 appearances so far this season, as he has evidently emerged as one of the most exciting talents in Europe to earn the interest of giants such as Arsenal, United and Spurs.

In addition though, as seen in the video below, the Brazilian youngster has many strengths that he would bring to Tottenham, should a deal be done, as he can be a real menace in his preferred position on the right flank.

Whether it’s his eye for goal, his ability to provide for his teammates or the mere threat that he poses by cutting in from the right with his favoured left foot, he is capable of adding a completely different dynamic to the Tottenham attack.

The video below also shows the speed, technical quality and movement that he possesses that makes him stand out, and so Spurs could be on the verge of a special signing it seems.

Naturally though, while he has adapted to French football and emerged as a success in a short period of time, taking on the challenge of adapting to the Premier League and life in England will present a different test and one which he will have to pass to live up to the lofty expectations being set.
