Tottenham star makes big request to Real Madrid if he is to seal Bernabeu transfer

Tottenham striker Harry Kane will only seal a transfer to Real Madrid if they can also bring in his manager Mauricio Pochettino with him, according to reports in Spain.

The England international has shone in the Premier League over the last few seasons, scoring 122 goals in his last 167 games for Spurs to attract interest from bigger clubs.

The Sun linked Kane with a big-money move to Manchester United earlier in the season, but it now seems he’s a priority for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, according to Don Balon.

The 24-year-old would undoubtedly be a big upgrade on the struggling Karim Benzema, though it seems he’s not prepared to simply walk away from Tottenham.

Don Balon claim Kane has told Real that he wants them to appoint Pochettino as manager if he is to leave London for the Spanish capital.

Could Harry Kane and Mauricio Pochettino end up at Real Madrid?

This would be an exciting double swoop by Madrid, who could arguably do with a change of manager after the side’s struggles under Zinedine Zidane this term.

The French tactician will likely be under growing pressure if results don’t improve, with the club already looking dead and buried in the race for the La Liga title.

Real could of course still win the Champions League for a third season running, but it seems more likely that a major revamp is needed, particularly with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale not at their best as part of an ageing front three.

With Pochettino doing so well to get the best out of Kane at Spurs, having the pair work together again in Madrid seems a no-brainer if Perez can pull it off.
