Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has taken a brutal dig at Arsenal over the departure of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

Klopp has offered a damning verdict on the nature of the deal. The Liverpool manager has insisted that selling a star to a direct rival is unacceptable and would not be tolerated at Anfield.

Klopp stated, “No Liverpool player of this squad would leave – and not just because we say it but because of their commitment to the club.” (Comments as per the Sun)

Klopp’s comments can certainly be interpreted as an indirect dig at Arsenal and Arsene Wenger as Sanchez joins a growing list of key players who have left Arsenal for a direct rival.

Robin van Persie famously left for Manchester United in 2012 from the Emirates and went on to help the Red Devils seal a Premier League title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last ever season as United boss.

Further, under Wenger the likes of Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor and even Ashley Cole departed the North London club for direct Premier League rivals.

The Daily Mail have reported that Sanchez will move to United with the Chilean expected to earn an astounding £450,000-a-week over a colossal four-and-a-half year deal. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is expected to move in the other direction according to the report but Klopp’s comments are still sure to hurt many members of the Arsenal board.
