Growing concern for Liverpool, second Real Madrid star has preference on Zidane successor

In the space of a week, a second Real Madrid player has reportedly intimated a desire to see Jurgen Klopp arrive at the Bernabeu.

Things aren’t going to plan for the Spanish giants this season as they’re a staggering 19 points adrift of La Liga leaders and rivals Barcelona.

Further, Zinedine Zidane’s men haven’t looked convincing in the Champions League or Copa del Rey, and so question marks will rightly be raised over their ability to maintain their incredible level of success in recent years as there is a real risk that they could end empty-handed this season.

Naturally, as with any struggle in the top job, the coach will bear the brunt of the responsibility and criticism, and that is no different for Zidane.

According to Don Balon, as re-reported by The Express, it’s claimed that not only are Madrid considering their options if things don’t improve between now and the end of the campaign, but Gareth Bale wants to see Liverpool boss Klopp arrive at the Bernabeu.

He’s not the only Madrid star to have reportedly supported that idea, as Don Balon claimed over the weekend that midfield maestro Toni Kroos also wants to work with the German tactician, despite names such as Joachim Low and Antonio Conte being mooted.

Given the job he did at Borussia Dortmund, coupled with the progress he’s making with Liverpool this season as they’re currently on an 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions and look like genuine contenders after the win over Man City last weekend, it’s no real surprise that Klopp would be linked with such a high-profile job.

In turn, as his name continues to get mentioned with Real Madrid, it could lead to a few concerned faces at Anfield over his long-term stay with the Reds.
