Manchester United handed £89m transfer lifeline as star delivers message to Real Madrid

Manchester United may have received a glimmer of hope in their transfer pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann as he looks to have snubbed Real Madrid.

According to Diario Gol, the France international does not want the controversy of leaving his current club for their inner-city rivals as he hopes to avoid drama with his eventual exit, and that he’s informed Real of his dilemma.

Griezmann has been in-demand for some time after his superb form for Atletico, and theres’ no doubt he could fit in at many of the biggest clubs in the world.

Diario Gol suggests Barcelona would be his preferred next destination, but this also seems somewhat puzzling if he wishes to avoid becoming a hate-figure with Atletico fans.

While the Rojiblancos do not share the same kind of rivalry with Barca as with Real, Griezmann could still be well advised not to strengthen one of their title rivals in La Liga.

Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United transfer rumours have not gone away

The Sun recently suggested the £89million-rated Griezmann could still be open to a move to United for the right money, and it would also make sense for him to move to England if he’s concerned about his reputation in Madrid.

While Diario Gol does not mention United for the moment, Griezmann has been linked with them repeatedly for much of the last year or more, and there’s reason to think he could favour a move away from Spain if he’s prepared to snub Real Madrid for the reasons mentioned above.

United just signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal this January and Griezmann could be another world class addition to their attack after some patchy form from the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford in recent times.
