Gareth Bale urges Real Madrid board to sign Tottenham star to replace under-performing team-mate

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has reportedly spoken to his club’s board about sealing the transfer of Tottenham star Dele Alli to replace Toni Kroos.

According to Don Balon, Bale follows his old club Spurs closely and is a big fan of what Alli could bring to this Madrid side after his remarkable rise in the Premier League.

Alli is widely regarded as one of the finest young players on the planet at the moment, and Don Balon claim Bale sees him as ideal to replace the struggling Kroos in Real’s midfield.

This would represent something of a positional change for the England international, who has largely operated in a more advanced role during his time in north London, and occasionally out wide.

Still, Alli has the ability to adapt and has played in a deeper midfield role in the past, while it does look like someone is needed to come in and take Kroos’ place at the Bernabeu.

The Germany international is one of a number of Madrid stars looking past their best this season as the club put up a tame effort in retaining their La Liga title.

Alli’s fine form for Spurs suggests he could also be ready to make the step up to an elite European club such as Los Blancos.
