Manchester United could seal transfer of exciting £45m star with a little help from Chelsea

Manchester United transfer target Marco Asensio could look to leave Real Madrid if they end up signing Chelsea forward Eden Hazard this summer.

Don Balon recently claimed United manager Jose Mourinho had held direct talks with the Spaniard about a move to Old Trafford, and there’s been another update on his future.

Diario Gol now report that Asensio is not prepared to spend another season on the bench at the Bernabeu after losing his place under Zinedine Zidane this term.

United could benefit hugely if Chelsea decide to sell Hazard to Real Madrid, as Diario Gol suggest this would likely push Asensio out of the door.

Of course, there would be the added bonus of their rivals losing one of their most important players, while Asensio could also be a key ingredient in improving Jose Mourinho’s side’s attacking play.

Marco Asensio could be just what Manchester United need

The Portuguese is not renowned for getting his teams to play attractive and free-flowing football, something that has cost them in the big games this season.

Asensio is one of Europe’s most exciting attacking midfield talents and could certainly strengthen this United side, and Diario Gol seem to believe he’s not far off pushing for a move away.

That would surely depend on Hazard joining, though it may be enough if he simply carries on in the squad player role he’s held already this term.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Asensio is currently valued at around £45million.
