Terms agreed: Chelsea star unlocks £78m+ transfer merry-go-round, great news for Arsenal

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has reportedly agreed on terms to join Borussia Dortmund, and that could set in motion major moves involving Arsenal.

As per the tweet below from respected Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur, Batshuayi has reached an agreement on personal terms with the Bundesliga outfit while there is an agreement between the two clubs  for his loan move already.

Should an exit now materialise, it will end a frustrating stint at Stamford Bridge for the 24-year-old temporarily, as despite scoring 10 goals in 25 appearances so far this season, has made just one Premier League start since October.

In turn, the opportunity to feature regularly at Dortmund will be a crucial factor in his move, while that could now unlock Olivier Giroud’s £18m move to Chelsea, as reported by The Telegraph.

The Frenchman will share Batshuayi’s frustrations as he has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal following the summer arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, and especially with the World Cup coming this summer, he will be desperate for more than just a prominent role in the Europa League, as has been the case with the Gunners this year.

As if that wasn’t enough with Giroud now seemingly set to replace Batshuayi at Chelsea, it’s reported by Sky Sports that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should now be given the green light to complete his £60m move to Arsenal.

While the Gabon international was seen arriving at Arsenal’s training ground on Tuesday afternoon, as per the report, it’s added that he wasn’t going to be free to move on until Dortmund found a replacement.

They appear to have found one in Batshuayi, as per the tweet above, while Chelsea have their replacement. The knock-on effect of that is surely for Arsenal to bolster their squad with the prolific 28-year-old, who has bagged 141 goals in 213 games during his time in Germany.

It’s a replacement of sort for Arsene Wenger too, as he’s seen Alexis Sanchez leave the Emirates this month, but he could now be about to add Aubameyang to the Henrikh Mkhitaryan signing to fill the void left by his former talismanic Chilean forward.
