Mesut Ozil has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract with Arsenal to become the highest earning player in the Gunners’ history, according to latest reports.
BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein claims Ozil put pen to paper on his deal at Colney this morning, having agreed to the contract last week.

Ozil has been a hugely important part of this Arsenal side since his move from Real Madrid back in 2013, and is regarded as one of the top playmakers in the European game.
This news comes as a huge boost to Arsenal in what has been a hectic January of ins and outs at the Emirates Stadium.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have come in for the north London giants, but big names like Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott have left the club, with Olivier Giroud looking set to follow with a deadline day move to Chelsea, according to the Telegraph.
Losing Ozil would have been another huge blow for Arsenal, but Ornstein claims he’s decided to commit his future to the club, which looks a blow for Manchester United.
The Independent recently claimed the 29-year-old was a target for United alongside Sanchez, and losing both players to one of their main rivals would have been unthinkable.
All in all, if this proves to be correct, it could actually go down as a very decent January for Arsenal in difficult circumstances.
