Paul Pogba breaks silence after poor Man Utd display in Tottenham defeat

Man Utd didn’t enjoy themselves at Tottenham in midweek, and it was a difficult night for midfielder Paul Pogba in particular.

Aside from being largely ineffective during the 2-0 defeat, the Frenchman was seen in a heated exchange with boss Jose Mourinho before he was eventually replaced in the 63rd minute.

In truth, after going behind after just 11 seconds courtesy of Christian Eriksen’s early effort, it was always going to be a difficult night for the Red Devils, but Pogba in particular earned some criticism.

While Manchester City moved 15 points clear again at the top of the Premier League table, bitter rivals Liverpool are now just three points behind them in third place in the standings.

As a result, it was a round of fixtures to forget for various reasons and while Man Utd players across the board didn’t have much to say on social media after the loss, Pogba has spoken out and vowed that the team will respond and “come back stronger”, as seen in his Instagram post below.

“Once upon a time… 6 years ago I played my first official match with our team,” he said. “Disappointed with yesterday’s result bt we’ll come back stronger. #wecanalwaysdobetter.”

The 24-year-old has made 21 appearances so far this season, scoring three goals and providing 10 assists.

When United are in good form, he has been at the forefront of those runs. However, now they need him to respond and produce a reaction when they most need it to get back to winning ways when they take on Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, and the message below is a good start in showing his leadership and willingness to lead by example.
