Man Utd confirmed line-up vs Huddersfield: Mourinho stuns fans with major snub

Man Utd face Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon and Alexis Sanchez has been handed his home debut.

The Chilean international has already featured twice for the Red Devils in away clashes with Yeovil Town and Tottenham in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively, but this will be his first outing at Old Trafford and he’ll undoubtedly get a great reception.

As for Jose Mourinho’s men in general though, they’ll be itching to put right their midweek defeat at Spurs, as they’re now starting to look over their shoulder with Liverpool just three points behind.

Huddersfield were swept aside by the Reds in midweek and so United will be hoping to produce a repeat of that and put in a top performance for their supporters.

The attention will be on Sanchez to showcase his qualities and prove that it was the right decision to bring him in, but the focus after the line-up was announced was more centred around the fact that Mourinho opted to drop Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.

Mourinho had downplayed the heated exchange between himself and Pogba at Wembley, but it seems as though he’s keen to change the look of his side and give an opportunity to a teammate instead for this one which will naturally only result in more speculation.

United will be confident that they still have enough quality on the pitch to secure all three points, but there are certainly some surprises in this one and the fans shared their views on social media…
