Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has been described as ‘tempted’ to leave the club amid growing transfer speculation over his future.
The France international has shone at the Nou Camp and it’s little surprise to see top clubs showing an interest in him with reports of his low release clause of just €60million.
Worse centre-backs have recently moved for more than that, and Don Balon list Paris Saint-Germain as the latest European giant lurking for Umtiti’s signature.
Their report also claims the 24-year-old is tempted by a number of offers that have come in, though it does not on this occasion specify who those have come from.
Don Balon have also recently claimed, however, that Chelsea have attempted to make an approach over a transfer by initiating contact with Umtiti’s representatives.
This follows another recent report from Don Balon that Manchester United are interested in the former Lyon man, so it’s anyone’s guess where he could end up next.
However, if previous stories of growing interest from Chelsea and United are accurate, it could be that Don Balon’s latest report is some sign he’s tempted by offers from the Premier League.
Both teams have had their own problems this season in unsuccessful attempts to keep apace with runaway league leaders Manchester City, so strengthening with a defender of Umtiti’s calibre could be a wise move.
