Real Madrid are reportedly growing in confidence over sealing the transfer of Chelsea forward Eden Hazard after initial talks with the player over a move.

While Don Balon claim things are at an early stage, Sergio Ramos is said to have caught wind of the growing optimism behind the scenes at the Bernabeu of getting the deal done.

Hazard would make a fine signing for Real as they look to revamp their struggling attack next season, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema both looking past their best, while Gareth Bale has struggled with injuries.

Don Balon also recently linked Hazard as a shock £150million target for Chelsea’s rivals Manchester City, and the Blues would surely rather sell abroad than to another English side.

Yet another claim from Don Balon recently is that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is growing resigned to losing the Belgium international, so it may be that their latest update is based on Madrid sensing the player is likely to push for a move.

Playing for a big name like Real Madrid is surely the dream of most of the world’s best players, and Hazard has dropped some hints he could be up for such a move in the past.

‘Everyone knows the respect I have for Zidane as a player, but also as a manager. He was my idol,” Hazard told Belgian TV channel RTL in November, as quoted by the Telegraph. ‘I do not know what will happen in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zidane would be a dream.’

This would be a huge blow for Chelsea after what looks like becoming a nightmare season, with the reigning Premier League champions on a dire run of form at the moment that could end up costing them a place in the top four.
