Real Madrid ready to axe €90m-rated star after crucial Florentino Perez talks

The end of Gareth Bale’s stint with Real Madrid could be close as reports claim that Florentino Perez is ready to sell the Welshman at the end of the season.

Bale has finally seemingly managed to put a stop to his constant injury problems as he has featured heavily in the last five La Liga games, scoring four goals.

However, it seems as though it hasn’t been enough to convince the hierarchy in the Spanish capital to continue with him as Diario Gol, as re-reported by The Express, claim that president Perez held a meeting to discuss his future and has decided to put a €90m price-tag on him ahead of offloading the forward.

Further, it’s the Express who specifically mention Man Utd as a possible destination for the 28-year-old, and it could be the escape that he needs to get a fresh start and kick-start his career where he seemingly has the faith of the club behind him.

Bale has had quite the four-and-a-half years at the Bernabeu, scoring 76 goals in 169 games for Los Blancos. On top of that, he’s picked up a La Liga title and three Champions League trophies along with the FIFA Club World Cup twice.

However, his influence has been waning as time has gone on, going from 48 appearances in the 2014/15 campaign to 31, 27 and now 19 so far this year respectively.

With Cristiano Ronaldo turning 33 this week and Karim Benzema faring worse in terms of form in front of goal, either Madrid back Bale and show their faith in him or perhaps sell him and bring in a replacement that they do seemingly believe in to offer them a longer-term vision which is badly needed.
