Chelsea star is no.1 summer transfer target for big-spending Champions League giants

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly making Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante their number one summer transfer window target as they look to replace Thiago Motta.

The French giants could do with a top class defensive midfield player to fill the boots of the veteran Italian, who has been a key part of their side for the last few years.

Kante looks as good as anyone to come in for PSG and help fix that position for them, though Chelsea will surely do all they can do keep hold of the crucial France international.

Le 10 Sport report of PSG’s interest in Kante, but also note that they could run into difficulties due to both the player’s importance to Chelsea and their own issues with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Still, it is a sign of the Ligue 1 giants’ ambition as they look to follow up an exciting summer last year with further big-name additions.

Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have both been big successes up front since being snapped up for vast sums of cash by PSG, and shoring up in midfield and defence could be just what Unai Emery’s side need to take their squad to the next level.

Kante has been one of the best players in the Premier League in his short time in England, winning the title in each of his first two seasons on these shores, first with Leicester City and then last season with Chelsea, when his all-action displays also earned him the PFA Player of the Year award at the end of the campaign.

One of the most hard-working and disciplined defensive players in the world, there are few better than Kante at what he does and it’s little surprise someone like PSG is showing an interest.
