Manchester United closing in on £175.5million duo, Liverpool and Manchester City set to be beaten to transfers

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a shock double transfer swoop for Real Madrid attackers Gareth Bale and Isco in a stunning development.

According to Don Balon, the Red Devils are finalising negotiations over both players as Jose Mourinho embarks on an exciting spending spree to build a new-look attack for next season.

In a boost for United, Don Balon also state that Cristiano Ronaldo has given both exits his approval, with the Portuguese likely to be a pretty influential figure due to his importance to his club.

Diario Gol recently linked United with an interest in Isco and it seems things are moving quickly as Mourinho looks to pip rivals Manchester City to his signature.

This follows another report from Don Balon that City had made a bid of £87.5million for the Spain international, including Bernardo Silva as part of the deal, though nothing has since materialised from this story.

Meanwhile, Bale has also been linked as being the subject of an £88m bid from Liverpool by Don Balon, which makes sense given their recent loss of star attacker Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Still, it now looks as though United could beat two of their biggest rivals to two exciting signings to follow up their January transfer window swoop for Alexis Sanchez.

Don Balon claim the pair have become top priorities for United and that the club are aware of Real’s need to cash in on the pair.

With Wayne Rooney leaving in the summer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic ageing and players like Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford struggling for consistency, the signings of Bale and Isco to play alongside Sanchez could make for a fearsome new front line at Old Trafford next season.
