Manchester United are reportedly eyeing up two midfield stars valued at roughly £95million as they prepare to replace AC Milan transfer target Ander Herrera this summer.
The Spain international has not been as regular a starter for Jose Mourinho’s side this season and could move on for more first-team football, with Milan interested in a £32million deal, according to the Daily Express.
The report adds that this has seen United look at potential moves for either Monaco star Fabinho at £45m or Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal at £50m.
Either could be a fine signing for the Red Devils, though it remains to be seen precisely how they would fit in as a replacement for Herrera given the fact that the 28-year-old has struggled for games this term.
Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba have been firmly ahead of Herrera in the pecking order at Old Trafford, so if Fabinho or Vidal arrived, they would presumably push one of those players out of the starting XI.
It may simply be that United feel they could do with an upgrade in that department anyway, with either Fabinho or Vidal giving them more options to rotate between truly world class performers in central midfield.
The Express add that United feel they may be forced to let Herrera go due to his current situation at the club.
