Man United are in the clear to seal a deal to bring Chelsea and Brazil star Willian to the club, after it was reported that Barcelona aren’t willing to match the club’s proposed €70M for the winger.

This is being reported by Diario Gol, who state that the Red Devils are willing to fork out the aforementioned fee to bring Willian to Old Trafford, and that Barcelona are only willing to fork out €40M and not €70M for the Brazilian.

The news outlet are also stating that Lionel Messi doesn’t want the Blaugrana to move for Willian as he sees the player a just a stop-gap and not a player that is going to be at the club long into the future.

Man United are in the clear to seal a move for Willian ahead of Barcelona this summer

Chelsea ace Willian has been impressive for the Selecao this summer, with the player being a pivotal player in his side’s journey to the quarter finals, where they eventually lost out to Belgium.

The 29-year-old was one of the Blues’ most important players last season, as the wide-man scored a total of 13 goals and 12 assists as he helped the west London side secure their first FA Cup since 2012.

The Brazilian international’s explosive burst of pace and keen eye for a killer pass has seen some rate him as one of Chelsea’s most important stars, and it would definitely be a blow to the Blues should he leave for Old Trafford this summer.

With no other club seemingly in the race for Willian, it seems Man United are now in the clear to swoop for the player given this news regarding Barcelona. A boost for Mourinho and Co indeed.
