Liverpool ready €65m bid to hijack transfer of star who’s already agreed Real Madrid move

Liverpool are reportedly ready to make an offer of €65million (including bonuses) to Roma for the transfer of goalkeeper Alisson.

The Reds remain in the hunt for a new shot-stopper this summer, and Alisson seems an ideal signing to replace the struggling duo of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

It had been claimed by Il Tempo (translated by the Metro) that the Brazil international reached a personal agreement over a move to Chelsea, while the Guardian claim he remains in their sights if Thibaut Courtois leaves, as is expected.

It may also be that he has an agreement in place with Real Madrid, with Liverpool supposedly needing to persuade him to go back on that agreement, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, as translated by Sport Witness.

This transfer saga seems like one that could go any way and we’re no closer really to understanding which ‘keepers will be moving where.

The Guardian’s report on Courtois leaving Chelsea could end up being good news for Liverpool if he ends up at Real Madrid, meaning they presumably wouldn’t then sign Alisson.

Alisson to Liverpool, Chelsea or Real Madrid?

However, if Chelsea or Real Madrid were to sign Alisson that could limit Liverpool’s options severely, as Courtois would probably be an unlikely target given the factor of Premier League rivalry.

Then again, the Belgium international is in the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and CFC may well be tempted to cash in on him now to avoid losing him on a free next year.
