Chelsea have reportedly made Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir a priority to replace Eden Hazard as he looks set to seal a transfer to Real Madrid.
According to Sport, the Belgium international looks like making the move to the Bernabeu and Chelsea have begun to look at two key players as possible replacements.
Fekir is one of those names, along with PSV starlet Hirving Lozano, which could mean another potential transfer battle with Liverpool this summer.
The Guardian are reporting that although both clubs have been in for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, Liverpool now look in pole position to win the race for his signature.
The Daily Mirror recently explained how a deal involving Fekir moving to Anfield broke down earlier this summer, but suggested it could now be back on. Since then, however, they have signed Xherdan Shaqiri in that part of the pitch, which may be sufficient to add the necessary depth to their side without completely revamping a successful front line of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Still, Sport claim Fekir is now one of Chelsea’s top targets to replace Hazard and that he could make his way to Stamford Bridge for around £62million.
If so, the Blues would be landing a quality performer who contributed double figures in goals from midfield last season, showing he could be ready to move on to a bigger club.
A similar style of skilful and creative player to Hazard, the France international could slot in very nicely at CFC, helping soften the blow of losing such a top player.
