Manchester United star to go against club’s wishes and push for exit before the transfer deadline

Manchester United plan to keep Anthony Martial this summer but there’s talk that his agent will push again for a move before the transfer window slams shut.

The France international’s representative Philippe Lamboley was quoted earlier this summer as saying his client wants out of Old Trafford, resulting in links with a number of different clubs since then.

However, the Daily Mirror claim United could trigger a clause in Martial’s contract to keep him at the club until 2020.

This is backed up by a report in the Times, who add that Lamboley will again stress to United that his client wants to leave before the transfer deadline in August.

Anthony Martial’s Manchester United future remains somewhat up in the air

It remains to be seen who will win this battle, but Martial could have a key role to play at the start of the season due to Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford being due back late following their appearances in the World Cup semi-finals, according to the Mirror.

This means the 22-year-old could finally get a chance up front after being shifted wide in recent times.

Martial is popular among United fans so they’ll be hoping he can be persuaded to stay and get more chances in 2018/19 than previously.
