Chelsea hosted Lyon at Stamford Bridge in their final pre-season clash on Tuesday night, with the Blues eventually prevailing 5-4 on penalties.
After two defeats on penalties in the International Champions Cup to Inter Milan and Arsenal, fortunes finally changed for Maurizio Sarri’s side with a shootout victory.

Unlikely hero Rob Green saved Pape Cheikh Diop’s effort to set up Eden Hazard with the perfect opportunity to seal a victory for the Blues on his return to action following his exploits at the World Cup.
As seen in the videos below, the Chelsea pair deserve plenty of credit as Green pulled off an impressive stop as he leapt to his left to produce a top save before Hazard kept his composure to slot home the winning spot-kick.
With pre-season now concluded, Sarri and his men will switch their focus to Huddersfield away on Saturday afternoon as they’ll be desperate to get off to a positive start under the Italian tactician.
