Alexis Sanchez says new Manchester United recruit will be ‘good for his game’

Manchester United winger Alexis Sanchez has praised Fred after working with him in pre-season and thinks they could link up to great effect next season.

Fred joined the Red Devils earlier in the summer from Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk and has featured prominently for the club during their pre-season tour of the US for The International Champions Cup.

The 25-year-old midfielder made over 100 appearances for Shakhtar during a five-year spell with the club and was included as part of Brazil’s final World Cup squad this summer in Russia by Selecao boss Tite.

However, the 25-year-old didn’t make a single appearance for his country during their run to the quarterfinals and thusly returned for club duty fresh and well rested ahead of United’s forthcoming Premier League campaign.

According to Sky Sports, club teammate Alexis Sanchez has been impressed with what he’s seen from the Brazilian in training, particularly his willingness to get forward and influence the game in attacking areas.

“From what I’ve seen in training, Fred is a player who always wants to get forward, he is always trying to get forward and from a personal point of view I think we’ll be able to combine well and it will be good for my game.” said Sanchez.

Fred is a box to box midfielder that should help unleash not just Sanchez next season, but also Paul Pogba, who has often been criticised for not getting forward enough and sitting deep during his second spell with the club.

The Brazil star has the technical ability and footballing acumen to be a real asset for Jose Mourinho’s men next season, but Sanchez also hinted that he would like to see another signing made before tomorrow’s deadline, as Sky Sports also reports.

“Barcelona just signed Arturo Vidal, who is a great player and my team-mate from Chile.” said the Chilean forward.

“He is an example of the type of players we need to sign in order to win trophies and compete at the highest level.”
