Chelsea will have to pay £63 million to acquire talented attacking midfielder

French outfit Olympique Lyon has revealed how much they would be willing to let star player Nabil Fekir go for this summer, with Chelsea ready to pounce.

The Frenchman has been one of Lyon’s standout performers in recent years and earned his place in Les Bleu’s manager Didier Deschamps final squad for the World Cup in Russia with his performances last season.

Fekir only featured once for France during their run to glory this summer, but he can still now add a World Cup winners medal to his CV, which has only made him more valuable in today’s transfer market.

According to The Daily Star, Liverpool were close to signing the 25-year-old attacking midfielder earlier in the current window, however, the deal ultimately broke down at the last minute.

The Daily Star also adds that London sports reporter Nizaar Kinsella has given the latest update on Fekir’s current situation, stating that Lyon value the Frenchman at £63 million and that there is no firm offer on the table from any clubs at this stage.

Additionally, The Daily Star reveals that Chelsea held talks with Lyon representatives last night, which may excite the clubs supporters ahead of the new season.

Fekir is a skilful, confident and supremely talented player that could go some way to solving Chelsea’s current issues upfront, with Alvaro Morata struggling in front of goal and the team generally lacking creativity in the final third.
