Chelsea star confident of forcing late transfer as he faces hefty punishment from Blues

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is reportedly confident his refusal to return to training will force his club to allow him a late transfer to Real Madrid.

This saga appears to be going right down to the wire, despite speculation going on for months about Courtois’ situation as he’s allowed his contract to run down to its final year.

This puts Chelsea under some pressure to sell the Belgium international for a reduced fee this summer, especially as he’s now gone AWOL from training for two days in a row, according to the Telegraph.

Their report states this puts Courtois in confident mood ahead of the last two days of the transfer window as he’s prepared to miss training again today to help things along.

It seems clear CFC are not happy about this as the Mail report that they’re set to hand the 26-year-old a whopping £200,000 fine for his behaviour, not that he’ll care if he can finally escape Stamford Bridge.

Courtois has been Chelsea no.1 since 2014/15 after returning to west London from a three-year loan spell with Atletico Madrid.

Los Blancos could also do with a big name like him in goal as an upgrade on Keylor Navas.
