Manchester United do something they haven’t done for 26 years with nightmare 3-0 defeat to Tottenham

Manchester United have lost two from their first three opening Premier League games for the first time in 26 years.

Goals from Harry Kane and two from Lucas Moura gave Tottenham a superb 3-0 win away to United this evening in a stunning result to pile the pressure onto Jose Mourinho.

Not since the first year of the Premier League, when Sir Alex Ferguson’s side lost their first two matches, have the Red Devils been beaten twice this early on.

The good news is, United won the title that year after a long wait, so who knows? Perhaps it’s a decent omen…

In all seriousness, the way they played tonight in a meek performance in response to losing 3-2 at Brighton should be a major concern for manager Mourinho in terms of his job safety.

CaughtOffside have been told by sources close to Zinedine Zidane that the French tactician expects to get the chance to replace Mourinho imminently as the Portuguese clings on to his job.

It’s another poor result for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United

Zidane has been increasingly linked with United in recent weeks after the poor start made by Mourinho this term, with the Mirror also reporting on the current situation, saying the atmosphere at the club has become ‘toxic’.

Such a poor start made by United surely means Mourinho is going to be under even more pressure in the next few days.
