Chelsea attacker targeted for deadline day Ligue 1 transfer

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is reportedly a transfer deadline day target for Ligue 1 side Bordeaux as foreign clubs line up some late business.

The 20-year-old looks unlikely to be a regular in the Blues’ first-team this season despite showing plenty of promise after coming up through the club’s academy.

Abraham first really caught the eye in a loan spell in the Championship with Bristol City in 2016/17, though he could not repeat that in the top flight with Swansea City last term.

L’Equipe now report that the youngster is on Bordeaux’s radar today, with the European transfer window closing for most leagues at midnight tonight.

Not much more information is given by the French source, though one imagines this would likely be a loan move for a highly-rated prospect.

The England international could certainly do with more experience and the chance to get some playing time, with an increasing number of players here now moving abroad to get first-team opportunities.

Jadon Sancho is impressing at Borussia Dortmund, Marcus McGuane left Arsenal for Barcelona, and Ademola Lookman had a good spell on loan at RB Leipzig last season.
