The Premier League may have had it’s transfer deadline day already this month, but a number of major leagues can still buy players today.

Speculation continues, therefore, to fly about regarding a couple of star names at the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

Sport are linking Paul Pogba strongly with Barcelona, though it does seem now that this deal will happen at a later date as United would be unable to sign a replacement for him now.

This likely means we won’t see too many big names leaving English clubs today, though there has also been a fair bit of talk about Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso being eyed by Real Madrid and Barcelona, as per Don Balon.

What time does transfer deadline day end?

For La Liga and Ligue 1 clubs, as well as other major leagues like Scotland, Russia, Turkey and Belgium, transfer deadline day is officially finally over at midnight tonight.

Bundesliga clubs have slightly less long, however, with their transfer deadline day coming to a close at 6pm.

Paul Pogba to make a transfer deadline day move? Don’t bet on it…

If you’re interested, clubs in Ukraine and Romania can still sign players until the 3rd of September. Pogba to Steaua Bucharest, anyone?

When does the transfer window open again?

Ah yes, the question on everyone’s lips. It’s January 1st for Premier League clubs and most of the major European leagues.

What do I do until then?

Watch some actual football. There’ll be plenty of it. But the good news, if you’re addicted to the gossip and drama and your name’s not Jose Mourinho, is that there’s no window for manager hirings and firings.
