Chelsea forward lined up for Premier League transfer after another move falls through

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is reportedly a transfer target for Crystal Palace after the youngster’s loan to Wolves fell through.

According to the Daily Mirror, Palace are interested in a similar deal to take Abraham on a temporary basis, though it remains to be seen how realistic this is.

Abraham has been on loan in the Championship with Aston Villa this season, and it is not exactly clear why his proposed move to Wolves did not happen.

Given that the England international has been in such fine form with Villa, it may be that he simply decided to stay put, but the Mirror claim Palace hope to persuade him to make the move back to London.

It is little surprise to see top flight sides chasing the talented 21-year-old, who has been prolific in two loan spells in English football’s second tier.

Abraham scored 23 Championship goals in a previous loan spell at Bristol City, and has 16 in 20 games for Villa this term.

He looks a big talent who could one day be good enough to be a Chelsea regular, but he will have to show he can reproduce that kind of form in the Premier League first, so fans will perhaps hope he does end up at a club like Palace sooner or later.
