Manchester United set £86m asking price for Barcelona transfer target eyed by Lionel Messi

Manchester United are reportedly facing fresh interest from Barcelona in the potential transfer of in-form midfielder Paul Pogba.

However, Don Balon claim the £86million-rated France international no longer wants to leave Old Trafford following the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as interim manager.

The Spanish outlet state Pogba is a top target for Barca in midfield, with players like Lionel Messi and Arturo Vidal both keen on the deal.

It seems Don Balon also claim United could still be prepared to cash in on Pogba if they receive an offer worth around £86m, though that seems risky from the Red Devils.

Pogba is finally showing he can be one of the best midfielders in Europe, having taken his game up a level under Solskjaer.

The 25-year-old put in a world class box-to-box display for MUFC as they beat Arsenal 3-1 in the FA Cup on Friday, and when he performs like that it’s hard to think there’s any price tag that would be worth considering for him.

Still, it’s easy to see why Pogba would have admirers at Barcelona, as he seems ideally suited to their attack-minded style of play.
