Man United have been dealt a potential blow ahead of their crucial Champions League clash against PSG later this month, after it was reported that Marco Verratti could return to training with the French giants this week.

According to the Daily Mail, the Italian international could very well return to first team training with Thomas Tuchel’s side this week, and that this has increased hopes of the midfielder playing a part for PSG against United on February 12th.

The report also notes that PSG will be without Neymar for the clash after the Brazilian injured his foot last month, news that will now be somewhat bittersweet given this recent story regarding Verratti.

Should Verratti end up regaining his fitness in time for PSG’s clash against United in nine days time, it’ll come as a big blow for the Red Devils, who may have been counting on the Italian being made to sit out the game through injury.

Verratti is one of the best central midfield players in world football, and his presence in PSG’s side will come as a big, big boost for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Whether PSG have Verratti or not, United fans will surely still be confident in their side’s ability to come away from Old Trafford with a win later this month given how they’ve performed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the Norwegian’s stint thus far.

The Red Devils have won all but one of their games under Solskjaer since he took over, form that may see some fans have United down as favourites for the clash on February 12th.
