A late corner from Bayer Leverkusen caused panic in the Roma defence and the Giallorossi’s Gianluca Mancini was the unlucky fall guy for the visitors.
As the keeper came to claim what may have normally been a routine catch, he got it all wrong and the ball hit Mancini before nestling into the net.
It meant that Xabi Alonso’s side were handed the advantage on aggregate (3-2) in the tie, and it sent the home fans into ecstasy.
