More updates from Keane’s outburst on his Manchester United TV show, ‘Roy Keane Plays the Pundit’.
While we initially thought the only player he (indirectly) named was Rio Ferdinand, it’s now being reported that his rant was far more specific. He named six players – Rio, Kieran Richardson, Liam Miller, John O’Shea, Darren Fletcher and Alan Smith as those who should be shipped out. Liam Miller is hard to argue with, but Kieran Richardson broke into the England squad while Alan Smith has been receiving praise from Ferguson and even Keane himself as he is being groomed to replace the Irishman in midfield.
Even more telling is the inclusion of Darren Fletcher, who has been a favorite project of Sir Alex for a long time. His inclusion will only add to the rumors that the relationship between the Ferguson and Keane has been dealt irreperable damage, an event that would have been unthinkable prior to this whole ordeal.
