Real Madrid have reportedly clinched the transfer of Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz, with a presentation date set for next week.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claims this is a done deal, following lengthy speculation that Diaz would be swapping the Etihad Stadium for the Bernabeu.

The Telegraph have also similarly reported that a deal for the 19-year-old to move to Real is close, and this looks like being another blow for City in terms of losing a top young player to a major club.

The Premier League champions notably lost Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund, with the England international now looking one of Europe’s biggest wonderkids after a successful spell in the Bundesliga.

Diaz could well have similar potential as a big club like Madrid moves to snap him up, though it remains to be seen if he can realistically become a regular there as Sancho has at Dortmund.

Los Blancos, like City, don’t have the best track record of handing opportunities to young players over big-money and big-name signings.
