The Liverpool backroom reshuffle that has been instrumental to Reds’ success this season

Liverpool were forced to make a key change to Jurgen Klopp’s backroom team during the summer as Pep Lijnders came in to replace Zeljko Buvac as assistant manager.

In a detailed report from Goal, it seems Ljinders’ return to Anfield following a failed spell away from the club to manage NEC Nijmegen coincided with a big change in approach from Klopp and co.

After a thrilling season in which Liverpool scored plenty of goals and made it to the Champions League final, but ultimately ended the campaign empty-handed, Goal claim Klopp and Lijnders worked in the summer on making the team more solid.

The report explains that signing Fabinho from Monaco was a big part of that, even if the Brazilian was slow to settle at the club.

Liverpool fans will be pleased to see Klopp acknowledging his team’s flaws and really working to fix them in a pretty successful fashion this season.

The German tactician has managed to get his side much more solid, while Fabinho has looked a superb signing.
