Mourinho starts early

While the rest of us are thoroughly distracted by the World Cup, trust Jose Mourinho to bring us back to the important things in life – him.

Though his long standing though ill-founded gripe that Arsenal’s David Dein’s influence on the FA board led to biased fixture arrangements took a turn for the…well…different, after Dein was replaced by Manchester United’s David Gill, clearly the Chelsea boss still feels the world is against his poor, poor, incredibly rich club.

Mourinho said: ‘I think in England you say, `I have looked into my crystal ball’. So this is what I saw.’

‘For sure our first game will be away from home.’

‘After international matches, Arsenal always play at home, Manchester United and Liverpool are 50-50, Chelsea always away.’

‘In the Christmas period, one day between matches.’ he added.

‘Again other teams have two days’ rest between matches. But these situations make us stronger, because we know from the beginning, we are not in an easy position.

There’s plenty more where that came from, as there always is with the Verbose One, including his now trademark begging and pleading for everyone to tell him how great he is.

Now, we haven’t ever been respected for anything we’ve done – but it seems like it’s one of those things that you get less of the more you ask for it.
