The Belgian youngster has become one of the most sought after properties in the Premier League after a highly impressive debut season.
The striker netted on 23 occasions during the current campaign and firmly established himself as Aston Villa’s number one goal threat.
Now that the club have staved off relegation, Villa are keen to secure the future of Benteke and ward off potential suitors.
The player’s form this season has not gone unnoticed with the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea all thought to be monitoring the situation.
It was widely thought that Benteke was keen to put pen to paper on a new deal but the 22 year old has put a number of clubs on alert after insisting he won’t be dictated to by his club.
It is thought that Benteke has one eye on the World Cup next summer and is tempted by a move to a bigger club in order to secure his national team credentials.
