Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish would take Carlos Tevez on loan – if Manchester City let their rebel star leave before the window shuts.

Dalglish’s club have made a cheeky approach for the ­Argentinian who could play for them in their push for the top four and both Cup competitions.

Tevez is currently in dispute with City and still pining for a move to AC Milan, but the Italian giants – and all other interested parties – are unwilling to commit to a full-time deal. So Liverpool have joined the queue of interested parties who would take Tevez on loan, paying his £200,000-a-week wages in the process at the cost of around £5million in rent.

Tevez’s fate will be decided before tomorrow midnight, when the transfer window will close.

Relations between City and their former skipper are so poor that they may block the Milan move and push the Liverpool idea instead.

The Anfield club are furious at suggestions that misfiring £35million striker Andy Carroll was offered in a swap deal as Dalglish wants him to be in his side for the push on three fronts.

This may well be a cheeky offer but it could actually make sense for all concerned. Man City will not sell Carlos Tevez for a penny less than they feel he is worth and thus far that has resulted in a number of clubs pulling out of talks to sign the 27 year old on a permanent basis. Roberto Mancini has stated publicly that he will never select the Argentine for the first team again and has little need for the striker but does not want his disruptive influence at the Etihad Stadium club, so why not loan him out until the summer?

The reported swap deal which would’ve seen Andy Carroll going in the opposite direction was never going to interest the table topping Premier League side, not least because Mancini has the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli notching up goals at will. However any side who is willing to cover Tevez’s £200k a week wages for the best part of four months would surely be a tempting offer to consider.

What helps in Liverpool’s favour is the fact that the Merseyside club, some 19 points behind Man City, can not be considered rivals and therefore offering Tevez on loan does not impact on their hopes to secure their first domestic title in over 40 years.

Also the act of bringing in a loan strike option would help Liverpool in their short term goal of securing a much needed top four finish whilst not undermining £35m man Carroll with the signing of a big name striker on a permanent basis. Luis Suarez returns from his lengthy ban soon but Dalglish’s side have still only managed 25 goals in 22 Premier League matches this season so could well do with another attacking option.

Currently the Merseyside club has to depend on veterans Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt for attacking back-up, both of whom have scored vitals goals in recent weeks, but both are also more effective in wide roles. Carlos Tevez may well be something of a headache off the field of play but his record in the English top tier is pretty consistent, indeed the former West Ham man finished last season at the joint top scorer in the Premier League.

Talk of a possible Upton Park return for Carlos Tevez has been flooding Twitter this afternoon and it’s an issue that talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams who tweeted on the subject earlier today.

Rumours are rife on Twitter that Carlos Tevez is close to making a return to West Ham United.

The Manchester City striker has recently seen proposed transfers to AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain fall through.

However, Upton Park has now emerged as the shock destination for the 27-year-old, who is currently in his native Argentina following a fall-out with City boss Roberto Mancini.

Bookmakers have also slashed their odds on Tevez returning to the Hammers.

“Carlos Tevez could be returning to West Ham – we’ve gone evens for him to sign by the end of transfer window,” Sky Bet announced on their Twitter page.

Now some may feel that a move to West Ham is unlikely but let’s face it, the Argentine’s original move to the East London club back in 2006 was probably even more of a surprise than any possible move from Man City to the Championship side now.

Roberto Mancini has stated publicly that Tevez has zero chance of being selected for first team action and given that prospective moves to the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and PSG have all seemingly fallen through.

A move to West Ham may be a win/win thing as clearly if the 27 year old doesn’t secure a permanent move by the time the transfer window closes next week then his presence at the club, if he ever returns from his AWOL trip to Argentina, may prove to be a distraction for the Premier League table toppers.

Then perhaps a loan move to West Ham, who are top of the Championship, would serve to remind the world that Carlos Tevez can also play football as well as being a potential headache off the field of play.

Tevez’s agent Kia Joorabchian has spoken of a possible temporary move to West Ham.

“He is a West Ham fanatic, that is one club that is very close to his heart but I think that would not be possible.

First of all Carlos is in a different position at the moment. West Ham are top of the league in the Championship, they have a good squad, they have a different objective. They’re in a division that is fighting for promotion.

It would be very difficult for Man City to want to loan him out because they would have to end up compensating a lot of the salary and why would they do that.” talkSPORT

Indeed. Well Man City may be prepared to cover some of Tevez’s wages should he join West Ham, in order to prove to prospective suitors that the Argentine striker is still a player worthy of meeting the club’s reported £25m valuation.

Manchester City have often been accused of ruining football with their obscene wealth and ­ambition to be the world’s biggest club.

But, with the exception of Carlos Tevez and his advisor Kia Joorabchian, there will be few who will take issue with their hardline stance against their erstwhile captain for his self-imposed exile in ­Argentina.

In revealing the extra-ordinary financial penalties they have imposed on Tevez for his stay-away antics, City have taken a sledgehammer to the popular belief that player power rules in modern-day football.

By imposing fines, stopping his wages, withholding loyalty bonuses and refusing to let him join AC Milan – his preferred destination – on the cheap, City have shown they will not be taken for mugs by anyone.

They have grown tired of the posturing of Tevez and his advisors, and decided to make public the disciplinary measures and fines they have imposed on a man who was once a cult hero among City fans.

And in a further flexing of City’s muscles, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, a man who rarely speaks publicly, launched an unprecedented attack on Tevez, Joorabchian and AC Milan for their conduct.

“As things stand, AC Milan isn’t an option for Carlos Tevez,” said City chairman Al Mubarak, speaking from his base in Abu Dhabi.

“Mr Galliani and his advisors have developed a misplaced sense of confidence from their premature discussions with Carlos and his advisors.

“If they want to be a consideration in this transfer window they would do better to stop congratulating one another and begin to look at how they would meet our terms.

“Inter Milan and Paris St Germain approached discussions with us in good faith and it is always a positive experience to deal with people with a professional approach.”

Continuing his diatribe against Tevez and Joorabchian, Al Mubarak warned the pair City were prepared to hold the 27-year-old to the terms of his deal and make him see out the remainder of his contract.

“Carlos remains a player with contractual obligations to Manchester City for the next two-and-a-half seasons,” said Al Mubarak.

Man City should be roundly applauded for sticking to their guns on this one. Clearly this is not an issue of the Premier League table toppers in financial terms but they are opting to stick to their £25m valuation and are not prepared to allow the 27 year old striker to leave ‘on the cheap’ no matter how much of a headache Carlos Tevez has become for the club.

AC Milan’s bluff has been called and any club who feels they can hold Man City to ransom should be well aware of their seemingly limitless wealth, right? That is clear for all to see, so there is no point in trying to put in an offer that simply won’t be accepted.

The fact that no club is willing to cough up the chase is an indictment of just how little confidence anyone has that they won’t be held to ransom and treated with the utmost disrespect as Tevez has shown Man City.

If you read between the lines Man City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is basically saying that unless anyone meets their £25m demand then Tevez will rot in their reserves for the next two years and if the former West Ham and Man United man opts to continue to go AWOL in Argentina then they will continue to withhold his wages.

It’s an admirable stance to take and one that no one will disagree with. Carlos Tevez has made his very expensive bed and now he must lie on it, however uncomfortable it makes him!

Sky Sports sources understand Carlos Tevez’s adviser is set to hold talks with Paris Saint Germain on Thursday about a prospective move to the French capital.

Big-spending PSG have made an approach to land the wantaway Manchester City striker as they look to bring in a high-profile signing in this month’s transfer window.

Tevez’s future at City has been the subject of constant speculation since his infamous bust-up with Roberto Mancini during their UEFA Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

Carlo Ancelotti appears keen to nab Man City striker Carlos Tevez but will have to make an attractive offer to beat off interest from both AC and Inter Milan. The 27 year old Argentine is certain to leave the Etihad Stadium side and the moment any prospective suitor meets the valuation placed on the prolific marksman by the Premier League leaders then a deal will probably be struck.

Roberto Mancini is certainly not missing Tevez on the field of play as the likes of Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko have put away a great many chances this term but that is not to say that the former West Ham and Man United man doesn’t have the quality to be a success elsewhere it’s just that the invariably headache that comes with the signing of such a volatile character comes with it an element of risk.

Tevez hit a total of 52 goals in his first two seasons at Man City, an enviable record, and Ancelotti has revealed that his Ligue 1 side had had many approaches from agents of big name strikers who appeared keen on a move to the French big spenders, who are now under the leadership of some very rich Qataris.

Ancelotti revealed that many strikers had been offered to him, stating “Do you want the names? OK, now I tell you the players that agents are offering on the market, officially or not: Tévez, Torres, Berbatov, Pavlyuchenko, Cavani, Llorente.” (Telegraph)

Inter Milan are ready to reopen talks with Manchester City over Carlos Tevez after AC Milan pulled out of negotiations for the Argentine striker.

Inter president Massimo Moratti had expected the 27-year-old to join their rivals but will restart discussions after Sunday’s Milan derby.

“There has certainly been contact [with City],” admitted Moratti.

Milan withdrew from talks on Thursday after their forward Alexandre Pato refused to join Paris St Germain.

City have been frustrated by the Italian champions’ insistence on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Inter Milan appear ready to move in for the kill now that rivals AC Milan have pulled out of the race to sign the 27 year old Man City man. The Nerazzurri could well do with alternative striking options and Claudio Ranieri has successfully arrested the early season disaster and helped the Serie A giants back up the table into fifth spot.

Given that the likes of Diego Milito and Diego Forlan are in the latter stages of their careers a move for Tevez makes a great deal of sense but only if, and that’s a pretty huge IF, Ranieri can prevent the Man City man from becoming a major headache off the field of play.

Roberto Mancini clearly has links with Inter and may well be ready to drop his asking price to speed up the sale of the former West Ham and Man United striker. A player the Man City boss clearly doesn’t need given the excellent form shown by Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli.

Manchester City’s first-team coach David Platt has hinted Carlos Tevez could play for the club again.

AC Milan have been in talks over signing the out-of-favour Argentina striker during the winter transfer window.

But negotiations were put on hold after Milan’s Alexandre Pato turned down a move to French side Paris St Germain.
Milan are hoping talks can be revived, while rivals Inter Milan have also been linked with a move for Tevez.
But Platt has raised the possibility of the 27-year-old, who scored 53 goals in his first two seasons with City, playing for the Blues again.

“Stranger things have happened,” he said.

How long before Carlos Tevez breaks this olive branch into? The Argentine has burned down so many bridges that is fairly amazing that David Plat is even entertaining the possibility of the 27 year old making a Etihad Stadium return. The fact that no club appears willing to take a chance on the prolific striker really sums up just how much of a headache the former West Ham and Man United man is.

Perhaps Roberto Mancini is looking to punish the striker by naming him as a permanent substitute for the entire second half of the season, periodically telling him to warm up for no apparent reason?

Ac Milan chief Adriano Galliani has confirmed that negotiations for Carlos Tevez were called off after Alexandre Pato confirmed his desire to remain at the San Siro.

Galliani confirmed that the two deals were reliant on each other and for that reason discussions with City broke down.

“I won’t talk about Pato’s refusal to join PSG, but he wants to remain with Milan”, he told Sky Italia as he arrived back in Italy.

“He was thinking about this for a few days, but the two operations were bounded between themselves and both had various clauses.

“I believe in fate and remember that when Gianluca Vialli said no, then we brought in Marco Van Basten. If Pato wants to remain, then we hope he will do well with Milan.

“We have the utmost faith in the strikers at our disposal, also trusting in Antonio Cassano’s swift return, as he will become our big new signing.”

So it now appears the door is open to Inter Milan to pursue their interest in the Man City striker though some sources believe that PSG may also make an approach for the 27 year old Argentine.

Alexandre Pato has not had the best of seasons thus far and much speculation had suggested that the young Brazilian was unhappy at the San Siro but the 22 year old has clearly decided that his future lies at Ac Milan and as such the need for further attacking reinforcements was nullified and now Tevez must make alternative plans and Roberto Mancini must pray that the Etihad Stadium headache is resolved before the month is out.

AC Milan insist talks regarding a move for Carlos Tevez remain ongoing, but are adamant they will not bow to Manchester City’s demands.

Negotiations between City and Milan have been ongoing for several weeks, with the main sticking point being the Italian side’s desire to take the player on-loan as opposed to the Premier League outfit’s determination to sell him.

Milan would like to agree a loan move with the right to make the arrangement permanent next summer, while City want a deal in place to ensure the move becomes permanent at the end of any loan.

Reports in Italy have claimed Milan’s city rivals Inter could make a late move for Tevez, but Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani insists the deal to sign Tevez is still very much alive.

“The negotiations are very much alive,” said Galliani. “Manchester insist on a loan with an obligation to buy and we insist on a loan with the right to buy.”

Once upon a time, Carlos Tevez used to play football.

If you would indulge me the task of continuing to jog your memory, he used to be a highly popular one for Manchester City – who was really rather good.

Despite regularly making outrageously innumerate claims about the number of restaurants in Manchester and slandering the city, his team’s supporters showed remarkable loyalty towards Tevez.

After allegedly refusing to appear as a substitute in the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich, Tevez assigned himself a break, and has hardly been seen since.

Still, reports today suggest that AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani still believes Tevez can remember what football is.

He hopes to recruit him to liven up the notoriously shy-and-retiring Rossoneri dressing room, featuring the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho, Kevin Prince Boateng and Antonio Cassano.

It is thought that Galliani has travelled to Brazil to meet with Tevez’s super-agent Kia Joorabchian to conclude the deal.
