Top Ten Underrated Premier League players: Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool players make the list

by Mr Comfort on March 10th, 2009 2 comments
  • Digg

Good list piece this, of the top ten players who don’t get enough credit

Darren Fletcher (Man United)
Often considered to be a player who was simply out of place in the star studded United team, over the past 18 months the Scot has got better and better. Whereas previously he was getting a place in the starting eleven due to injury or poor form of others the 24 year old now finds himself a regular in the midfield.

Carlton Cole (West Ham)
After early promise when he first got his chance at Stamford Bridge Carlton Cole’s career seemed to be stagnating somewhat, but a move to Upton Park seems to have done the trick. For too long considered to be a donkey the strong forward is beginning to add goalscoring to his resume and you would be hard placed to find a more determined customer.

Ryan Nelsen (Blackburn Rovers)
Another tough customer who goes about his game with a determined simplicity that makes many fail to see the Kiwi’s ability to keep the best strikers at bay. Regularly cited as a player that forwards most despise to play up against and the kind of player that as a fan you can fully expect 100% from week in week out. (timeaddedon.com)

Some good names on here but there were loads of others we came up with when we came to think of it. Who would you like to see on such a list? Or are there indeed any that made it who didn’t seem worthy of any adulation whatsoever?

West Ham woe continues: Striker considering future while defender calls for manager to sort it out on the pitch

by stresster on August 29th, 2008 6 comments

While Alan Curbishley might claim that the Hammers board are firmly behind him, all the signs seem to indicate that the manager is living on borrowed time at the Boleyn Ground. Despite a winning start to their league campaign, West Ham have had two particularly performances, losing 3-0 at Man City before drawing 1-1 at home to Macclesfield in the Carling Cup.
