With the arrival of midfield playmaker Luka Modric, it is highly considered that Spurs should be looking to sign a defensive midfielder who can cut up play and cover for the Croatian star as he makes forward runs. With Tottenham clearly in the market for a midfielder of this kind, it is disappointing to hear that Sevilla’s lynchpin Christian Poulsen has moved to Italian giants Juventus for just £8m.
Reports in Spain claim that La Vecchia Signora have agreed a €10million (£8m) fee for 28-year-old Poulsen and have offered the central-midfielder a double your money four-year contract to bring the Danish International to the Stadio Olimpico.
Poulsen joined Sevilla from Bundesliga team FC Schalke in 2006, making 49 appearances for the Sevillistas and picking up two UEFA Cup Winners medals during his time at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. (premiershiplatest.com)
For a player that Ramos knew so well and achieved so much with, I am surprised that there was no attempt to sign the Danish international. After all, Spurs did show interest in the player for a much bigger fee in January.
