Part two of four of El Classico takes place tonight as Barcelona and Real Madrid battle for the Copa Del Rey.

The two La Liga giants have met only five times in the final of the competition’s 110-year history with Barcelona edging the encounters 3-2.

Real Madrid keeper Ricardo Zamora produced a stunning performance as Los Blancos defeated their Catalan rivals 2-1 in 1936.

In 1968, 100,000 Bernabeu supporters were stunned when a comical own goal by Fernando Zunzunegui secured victory for Barcelona by one goal to nil.

Six years later Real Madrid would record the biggest victory of the five previous finals, 4-0 thanks to goals by Santillana, Rubin, Aguilar and Pirri.

Barcelona have emerged victorious in the last two encounters . Winning 2-1 in 1983 thanks to Victor and a late Marcos goal whilst in 1990 Johan Cruyff’s ‘Dream Team’ eased a 2-0 win thanks to Amor and Julio Salinas.

Real Madrid honorary president Alfredo Di Stefano has blasted Jose Mourinho’s tactics during the 1-1 draw against Barcelona on Saturday.

The 84-year-old is a club legend scoring 216 goals in 282 appearances between 1953 and 1964. He won eight Spanish league titles, a Copa Del Rey and five European Cups.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s 82nd-minute spot-kick cancelled out Lionel Messi’s 53rd-minute penalty for Barca, which also saw Madrid defender Raul Albiol sent off.

Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet again on Wednesday in the Copa Del Rey final followed by two more games for the Champions League semi-final.

Di Stefano was highly critical of his team claiming they lacked any personality at the Bernabeu, despite coming from a goal, and a man, down against the La Liga champions.

He claimed Los Blancos ”just run back and forth constantly, tiring themselves out”. He added that the team’s approach was “clearly not the right one.”

While he praised Barcelona’s superiority, saying they “treat the ball with adoration and respect”.

The Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place at the Mestalla stadium in Valencia.

The tie will take place on April 20th in front of a 55,000 capacity crowd.

The two teams also met in the fianl of the competition at the Mestalla in 1990 with Barcelona winning 2-0.

Real are seeking their first cup triumph since 1993 while Barcelona will want to recapture the trophy they won in 2009.

The match between the two great rivals takes place a few days after the pair meet in Madrid in the league for the final ‘el classico’ of the season.

They could also be drawn to play each other in April’s Champions League quarter-finals if they both progress beyond the last 16.

The Mestalla stadium was opened in 1923 and is the fifth largest in Spain. In 1925 the stadium held the first match of the Spain national football team in Valencia and the first game of the 1982 World Cup.

Alcorcon ply their trade in the third tier of the Spanish league and when they came up against big spending La Liga giants Real Madrid in the first leg of this Copa Del Rey (the Spanish equivalent of the FA Cup) they were probably just dreaming of the much needed cash the tie would generate, however the Alcorcon players had other ideas.

To say that the minnows outplayed Manuel Pellegrini’s side would be an understatement and anyone thinking that perhaps the Bernabeu outfit sent out a plethora of untried youngsters to the match against the tiny side from the outskirts of Madrid will have to think again. This was the star studded line up for the cup tie.

Now that is eleven proven internationals, oh and Van Nistelrooy was brought on from the bench in the hopes of getting the Madristas back into the game. Whilst it is clearly not a result that will see the club’s boss sacked it will have shaken the big spenders to the core and made them reconsider just how close they are wrestling any significant silverware from rivals Barcelona, who are the holders of the Copa Del Rey.

Alcorcon are on something of a high, last season they finished in third spot in Segunda Division B, their highest placing ever in their in 30 year plus existence. The ultimate underdogs will travel for the second leg with the world (minus Real fans of course) wishing them well as they attempt to hold off the marauding waves of attack that will surely be flung on them in front of 80,000 fans. Remember we are talking about a club who’s home ground has a capacity of just 3,000, but no doubt every single fan present at last nights miracle will remember it for the rest of their lives.
