Arsene Wenger promised to be busy this summer in the transfer market but at the time of writing only Carl Jenkinson, Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been added. While Gervinho could be a useful acquisition this season, the other two are very much stars for the future. Arsenal have problems that need to be fixed now!

The lack of activity has driven fans up the wall for years. Now the debt from the Emirates is clear, the boss has money to spend but baulks at clubs demanding over-inflated prices. The whole market is over-inflated so bargains are hard to find but Wenger certainly has missed out on a few.

Shay Given has moved from Newcastle to Manchester City to Aston Villa for a total of £10million, while Wenger has allowed the goalkeeping problem to drag on. Defensive issues have been dogging the first-team but Chelsea spend £23million on a David Luiz, who at 24, will offer many years and great value for money.

Arsenal have sent midfielder Denilson on-loan to his former club Sao Paulo for the entire season.

The 23-year-old, signed in August 2006, struggled to hold down a regular place in Arsene Wenger’s side last season.

After making his debut in League Cup game against West Bromwich Albion he went on to make 153 appearances for the Gunners.

The Brazil midfielder is looking forward to getting back into action.

He said: “I will be playing in Brazil next season as I felt that this is a good opportunity for me to play regular first-team football.

“I move away with sadness because I have so many friends at Arsenal and everyone has always been so supportive towards me.

“I’m now focused on doing well in Brazil next season, but will always be looking out for the Arsenal results.

“It is a great club with many great players, a good team spirit and a top-class manager. I wish you well for next season.”

Despite long-term target Felipe Melo now being available,Wenger is likely to trust his youth team and promote Emmanuel Frimpong and Craig Eastmond into the first-team to replace Denilson.

Everton are preparing an audacious loan move for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, after he failed to secure a move to Germany this summer.

Toffee’s boss David Moyes is keen to add more firepower to his squad and will rekindle his interest in the 23-year-old.

The Denmark international was poised to move to Merseyside last January on a temporary deal but the Gunners would not let him go.

But Arsenal have now added to their own attacking options, bringing in Gervinho from Lille and Deportivo Saprissa’s Joel Campbell, according to the Daily Mail.

Bendtner has been linked with moves to Borussia Dortmund, Hamburg and Benfica but so far no club has matched his £12million valuation or wages.

Moyes has also looked at Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega and Dani Osvaldo from Espanyol but have been priced out of any move.

Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Denilson is set to return to Brazil with Sao Paulo.

The 23-year-old is due to join on loan with a view to a permanent deal after becoming frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities.

The Brazil international suffered the humiliation of being substituted after coming on from the bench in the Gunners pre-season tour match against Malaysia XI.

Arsenal midfielder Denilson has played his final game for the club after being hauled off just 20 minutes after coming on as a sub and then storming off down the tunnel.

The 23-year-old suffered the ultimate humiliation for any footballers during his side’s 4-0 pre-season win over a Malaysian XI in Kuala Lumpur.

The Brazil international has already expressed his desire to leave the Emirates but the Gunners have been unable to sell him.

So it looked likely Denilson would remain in north London until at least January but this latest episode means a transfer is more likely.

He was brought on at half-time during Arsenal’s 4-0 win, but was replaced just 20 minutes later – prompting him to storm off down the tunnel.

Initial reports suggested he was injured but this has been dismissed by the Arsenal medical team

Manager Arsene Wenger will not be impressed by his attitude and with youngsters Emmanuel Frimpong and Craig Eastmond pushing hard for inclusion, Denilson’s days are numbered.

Samir Nasri made an appearance off the bench and impressed for the Gunners, while Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Carlos Vela and Tomas Rosicky got on the scoresheet.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will not let the long-running Cesc Fabregas transfer saga to Barcelona stop him signing five new players.

The Frenchman is aware of the growing pressure he is facing to strengthen his squad and will act to appease fans desperate for silverware.

Wenger was pictured meeting close friend and former Arsenal vice-chairman, David Dein, last weekend and it is believed Wenger was told to go for broke and spend his cash.

The sale of Gael Clichy to Manchester City will prompt him to sign Lyon defender Aly Cissokho for £13million.

The 23-year-old is seen as better option than Newcastle star Jose Enrique, who is on the radar of Liverpool.

Other departures from the Emirates are inevitable with Nicklas Bendtner, Andrey Arshavin, Denilson, Emmanuel Eboue and Manuel Almunia the first in line.

Captain Fabregas’ future is in doubt also but Wenger will only sell him for the right price of £40million, with Barcelona only offering £27million.

The two men will discuss the situation this week with Wenger happy to spell out to the Spaniard that he has a contract and expects him to honour it.

Wenger will also step in to ensure Samir Nasri signs a new contract to keep him out of the clutches of Manchester United and Manchester City.

Czech Republic midfielder Tomas Rosicky will be offered a new one-year extension.

But the Gunners boss will hope to secure the £27million double signing of Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Lille striker Gervinho before the team leave for their pre-season tour of the Far East on Sunday.

Gervinho is expected to have a medical today and Wenger is hoping to lure his team-mate Eden Hazard to north London also in a £20million deal.

The French champions have said he is not for sale, but Wenger is a huge fan of the Ligue 1 player of the year and is keen to sign him.

Valencia star Juan Mata is also on Wenger’s radar, with the Frenchman lining up an £18million bid for the Spanish international.

Liverpool are also keen on the 23-year-old but no deal will be completed until Mata returns from holiday.

Arsenal midfielder Denilson is the subject of an £8million bid from La Liga side Sevilla.

The 23-year-old moved to North London five years ago from Sao Paulo for £4million but has been unable to cement his place in the first-team.

The Brazil international has been usurped in the side by Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey while another youngster Emmanuel Frimpong will increase the competition for places.

Denilson had never convinced the Gunner faithful of his ability, mainly because he was unable to pass forward and was constantly caught out of position without the pace to make up for it.

He admitted last week he wants to leave the Emirates in search of silverware and because he had endured the worse season of his life.

“I’ve simply been to see (manager) Arsene Wenger and told him how I felt – and he has agreed to let me go,” he said.

“This has been the worst season of my life and I am so upset, so frustrated. I am a winner and I came here to win trophies but I’ve been here for five years and won nothing.

“A footballer’s career is over very quickly so it is time to move on.

“I know some people think I’m crazy. I need a fresh challenge and although I know I’m taking a big gamble I am ready to take that risk.”

Brazilian midfielder Denilson has stunned Arsenal by announcing that he wishes to leave the club.

“This has been the worst season of my life and I am so upset, so frustrated,” he told The Sun.

“I am a winner and I came here to win trophies but I’ve been here for five years and won nothing.

“A footballer’s career is over very quickly so it is time for me to move on.

“This is not a sudden decision. I made up my mind eight months ago.

“I was fed up of coming home and feeling down.

“I’ve simply been to see Arsene Wenger and told him how I felt and he’s agreed to let me go.”

Denilson added: “I can’t see myself returning in a Chelsea shirt or Liverpool or Manchester City, and definitely not Tottenham. I think my future will be in Spain or Italy.” (Sky Sports)

You can hardly blame Denilson for wanting to move on. The Brazilian points out that Arsenal have not been winning trophies and perhaps more importantly have done so without the 23 year old even getting a look in. The defensive midfielder looked like he would become a big star at the Emirates Stadium and his first couple of seasons were memorable ones but of late when called upon he has been ineffective and Wenger is probably keen to sell the Samba star.

There has been talk of interest from Germany but Juventus may be a possible destination for the former Sao Paulo player. In fact some sources have dabbled in the possibility of some sort player plus cash swap with long term Wenger target Felipe Melo, but there appears to be no solid base for such speculation.

Arsene Wenger will have his hands full trying to keep his top performers at the club without having to worry too much about a possible Denilson departure. The likes of Samir Nasri, Andrei Arshavin, Gael Clichy and of course Cesc Fabregas, have all been strongly linked with moves away from the North London club.

For the record Denilson has amassed 153 Arsenal appearances but this term has spent most of the time languishing on the bench, making just six Premier League starts.

Arsene Wenger is being offered the chance to re-sign Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid – three years after flogging him to Portsmouth.

France midfielder Diarra, who had a brief spell at Arsenal in the 2007-2008 season following a move from Chelsea, has made it clear he is fed-up at the Bernabeu and wants regular first-team football.

Diarra is being offered around the Premier League and Arsenal and Liverpool have been sounded out, with Real wanting around £12m.

Both clubs want to strengthen their midfield, and Arsenal are also looking to offload Brazilian Denilson – Sevilla and Wolfsburg are interested.

Denilson has been disappointing this season with insiders feeling he has become disillusioned and has lost focus.

The 26 year old French international was purchased from Chelsea in August 2007 and barely lasted four and a half months before he left for Portsmouth having barely featured. The battling defensive midfielder then produced his best football whilst at Fratton Park and was sold to Real Madrid where he has been in and out of the starting eleven over the past two and a half seasons.

Diarra may well be interested in a move back to the Premier League but clearly will only move back to North London if he is guaranteed first team football, something that Wenger may not be willing to offer the Parisian. Wenger will reportedly look to bring in new blood this summer after another disappointing season and a move for the Real Madrid man may well be a wise one.

Brazilian midfielder Denilson appears to have run out of second chances, having repeatedly failed to prove himself over the past 18 months. The 23 year old is not getting much of a look in when it comes to first team football and sources state that a move to Germany is more likely than Spain.

Arsenal may also look to offload the likes of Manuel Almunia, Emmanuel Eboue and Abou Diaby whilst contract rebel Gael Clichy may be allowed to leave for the right fee.

‘El Capitan’ will rightly be remembered as a true Arsenal hero. The Spaniard has constantly put his body on the line for the cannon on his chest but his heart yearns for his hometown and Barcelona are calling.

Arsene Wenger is ready to conduct a major squad clear-out as he looks to free up funds to re-invest in new additions this summer. The Arsenal boss has watched on in anguish as his side slumped to just one win in their last seven Premier League matches, effectively ruining their title hopes and the Gunners manager is ready to act to help improve the club’s chances of securing meaningful silverware next term.

Arsenal may well be set to finish outside the top two for the sixth season in succession and the growing anger among the club’s supporters coupled with some woeful form shown by a significant portion of the squad will lead Wenger to listen to offers for as many as eight of his squad when the season comes to a close.

A great many of those targeted in the mass cull are defensively minded as Wenger looks to bring in a new keeper and an extra centre back to beef up a back line that has been unable to command any aerial authority and has made far too many elementary errors for Arsene’s liking.

Manuel Almunia will be offloaded after committing one too many fumbles and last summer arrival Sebastien Squillaci hasn’t adapted very well to Premier League football and could be on his way out after just one season. Wenger will look to cash in on Gael Clichy as the French left back has just one year left on his contract and seems unable to agree a new deal with the North London club.

Utility player Emmanuel Eboue will be made available to any interested parties as will under performing Brazilian Denilson. Wenger has run out of patience with Abou Diaby, whose undoubted talent has been hampered by woeful inconsistency. Tomas Rosicky could also be offloaded after the Czech Republic midfielder fell further down the pecking order.

Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner also seems destined for a move away from the Emirates after another season failing to deliver when called upon. The jury appears to be out on Andrei Arshavin and Marouane Chamakh with Arsene Wenger ready to give both players a chance to prove themselves next term.

New owner Stan Kroenke is ready to offer Wenger a significant funds but feels that space must be made in a squad that will see many youngsters return from successful loan spells and into the club’s squad. The likes of Henri Lansbury, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Ryo Miyaichi could be promoted to first team action after impressing with Norwich City, Cardiff City and Feyenoord respectively.

Wenger has also been strongly linked with moves to sign Gary Cahill from Bolton as well as a number of potential keeper signings.
