Elano impressed many during this spell at Man City but he probably didn’t score from 40 yards like he does here for Santos against Colo Colo. However one does wonder why the keeper couldn’t stop the shot, yes the ball was swerving but only ended up hitting the back of the net about an arm’s reach from where the keeper was standing!

Always one for netting crackers, Brazilian Elano gives the Turkish League a taste of things to come.
If I were the Brazilian International I would be impressed by being broadcast live on Turkish Television arriving at the airport but you can see in his face that he is really thinking “Is that it? Darius got twice as many people acting twice as crazy and he couldn’t hit a barn door with a Banjo!”
No doubt when Elano’s Galatasaray side come up against Darius’s Ankaragücü they will warmly greet each other whilst collectively wondering why they left the all conquering Premier League champions to be…or probably not!

Robinho has been a pretty pretty good signing for Mark Hughes since arriving at Eastlands in September. Despite City’s patchy form, especially on the road, the former Real Madrid man hasn’t failed to impress after scoring nine goals in all competitions. Now it appears his friend is warming to the idea of rainy Manchester. [Read the rest of this entry »]
Football is a squad game these days, especially in the Premier League, where optimum fitness is so important. Managers need to have strength in depth, being able to call on some quality footballers on the bench to change the game or come in when other players are injured. Unfortunately, this midfielder thinks he’s too good to be left out of the starting XI. [Read the rest of this entry »]
